Without wanting to be too harsh on a man who’s still a big hit with Liverpool fans, it’s fair to say that Dirk Kuyt is no oil painting, but anyone would be horrified to look in the mirror if they suffered an injury as bad as Kuyt did after a nasty collision with Jonathan de Guzman during training with the Dutch national side this week. The collision happened during training on Tuesday ahead of a friendly with Portugal on Wednesday but neither Kuyt or De Guzman could play any part after a collision which resulted in De Guzman suffering concussion which has ruled him out of Swansea’s game with Manchester United this weekend and Kuyt now sporting an eye wound that required a number of stitches and forced his eyelid to close completely.
