One of the all-time greats is still playing a bit, and he had his son Rivaldinho as a team-mate last night.

In his long and distinguished career Rivaldo played for the likes of Barcelona and AC Milan, won the World Cup and picked up a the World Player of the Year gong in 1999. In short he was pretty damn special. Now aged 41, Rivaldo is currently president of Mogi Mirim, a Sao Paolo club he played for right at the start of his long career.

One of the benefits of being the top man is that he gets to pick himself to play when he feels like it and now that his son Rivaldinho, 18, also plays for the club, last night was a perfect chance for father and son to be on the pitch together for the first time.

Playing XV de Piracicaba in the Campeonato Paulista Rivaldo and son spent 30 minutes on the pitch together. The game ended 1-1 and if Rivaldo Junior has half as much talent as his Da, we will be hearing a lot more about him.
