Pics: Bayern Munich’s passing stats last night were insane
Considering that Bayern are due at Old Trafford next Tuesday, Manchester United fans might be advised to look away now.
We haven’t even reached April yet and already Bayern Munich were celebrating their first trophy of the season last night after victory over Hertha Berlin sealed their status as Bundesliga champions with seven games still remaining.
Pep Guardiola’s side have dropped only four points in 27 games to date and have scored 79 goals in the league while only conceding 13 and while that is a testament to just how dominant they have been domestically, they re-iterated their superiority with a supreme display in a 3-1 victory over Hertha last night.
As we know, Pep likes his teams to play possession football and they frankly took the p*ss with their passing stats last night, with football stats site Squawka showing that they were on target with 992 of 1,063 passes, leading to the quite ridiculous looking heat-map below.

On an individual basis, meanwhile, converted full-back Philipp Lahm was the most impressive of a mightily impressive bunch, completing all 134 of his attempted passes on the night.

How Manchester United will even attempt to counteract Bayern’s threat next week remains to be seen – the audition against Manchester City didn’t go too well last night – but then again, Hertha Berlin didn’t have Marouane Fellaini and Tom Cleverley.
Oh wait…
