Pics: German football stadium turned into massive living room for watching World Cup matches

This looks absolutely deadly.

This looks absolutely deadly.

Watching football is always better with other people. The collective mood swings and waves of excitement really make watching even the crappiest games more enjoyable and if you can be comfortable, with a beer in hand, even better.

That is why the set up by FC Union Berlin, a Bundesliga 2 side, for the World Cup is simply perfect.

They have turned their entire pitch into a giant living room. A huge TV sits along one stand while the pitch is filled with 780 couches, each with their own little side table and lamp to really make you feel at home.

The 700-inch screen is even mounted on a  mock wall, with wallpaper, windows and photos, just like home.

Three thousand people watched the Brazil/Croatia game from the couches, with another 9,000 in the more traditional stands. As well as being very cool, it is also a very handy revenue maker for the club in the off season, especially if Germany do well.
