The site of the 2011 nuclear disaster is allegedly producing some pretty bizarre stuff…
In the aftermath of the catastrophic earthquake and tsunami that hit Japan in March 2011, one of the biggest disaster zones was in the vicinity of the Fukushima nuclear power plant. A melt down occurred, making it the worst nuclear disaster since Chernobyl in 1986. The World Health Organisation has been to the site and they report that incidents of cancer have not increased, suggesting that the levels of radiation released may have been less damaging than first thought. But now a series of pictures, claiming to show images of fruit of vegetables grown near the plant, suggest that something may be up, at least with the crops.
Posted originally on imgur, and now being picked up by sites like MSN in the US, these fruit and vegetables are certainly not normal looking. A result of radiation or just a natural mutation? Guess we will need the scientists to go in and have a look.Explore more on these topics:
