Picture: Gareth Bale gives his seal of approval to Peterborough’s record signing

If there's one man who knows a bit about handling the 'record signing' tag, it's the young Welshman

If there’s one man who knows a bit about handling the ‘record signing’ tag, it’s the young Welshman

It seems that Gareth Bale is keeping an eye on Peterborough United’s progress all the way from Madrid, and possibly watching the Football League show on the BBC to see all the goings on and goals from the lower leagues.

One player who looks to have impressed him is Britt Assombalonga of Peterborough, who paid £1.5 million for him from Watford in the summer. While Gareth might have cost his new club Real Madrid a few quid more, he still reckons that Barry Fry got some decent business done in the window, and sent him a signed shirt stating as much back in September, which the Posh chairman was more than happy to show off.

So there you go, the Gareth Bale stamp of approval has been handed out to Britt Assombalonga. He seems to be dealing with it pretty well judging by the brace he scored a few weeks back, including a screamer.
