Picture: So you’ve seen the dog with the human face, right?

There are many people who have been unflatteringly compared to animals because of their physical attributes, but rarely does it apply in the opposite direction. Until now, that is.

The likes of Ruud van Nistelrooy or Sarah Jessica Parker, for example, have been compared to horses in the past, but while theirs is, in fairness, a little more than a slight resemblance, Tonik the dog is possibly the best example of an animal/human lookalike we’ve seen to date.

According to The Huffington Post, Tonik, a poodle-Shih Tzu mix, is available for adoption from an animal welfare agency in Indiana, but it has attracted a great deal more attention than your average dog because it looks uncannily like a human being.

If you don’t believe us, have a look at the photo below, which was taken by photographer Renny Mills and has gone wild on the Internet in the last couple of days.

Had Tonik been a cross breed between a bulldog and a Shih tzu, one would be forgiven for thinking that this story is bullsh*t (an oldie but a goodie) but this is very real indeed and hopefully Tonik will find a good home sooner rather than later.
