For the second year in a row, the Guinness Storehouse is the top draw for tourists to Ireland.

The numbers are in for Ireland’s most popular tourist attractions, free and pay-in, and the most popular spot is once again the Guinness Storehouse in Dublin.

The home of the black stuff had 1,087,209 visitors in 2012, putting it ahead of the only other site to break the one million mark, Dublin Zoo.

Third on the fee paying list was the Cliff of Moher in Clare.

Failte Ireland also released figures today for the free attractions that proved most popular with visitors last year.

Top in that catagory was the National Gallery with over 660,000 people through the door. Second were the Botanic Gardens in Glasnevin in Dublin and third was the National Museum on Kildare Street.

Dublin sights dominate the lists, especially on the free attractions, with only Holy Cross Abbey in Tipperary breaking the top 10, in ninth with 240,000 visitors.

Tayto Park in Meath and two Cork attractions, Fota Wildlife Park and Blarney Castle, join the Cliffs of Moher in the paid attractions list.
