Queen Elizabeth has been sitting on the sidelines at Croke Park this afternoon as part of her four-day visit to Ireland.
The visit to GAA headquarters was one of the most symbolic moments of her historic visit to date as it was at this ground where 14 Irish civilians were killed by British soldiers during the war of independence.
President Mary McAleese and GAA President Christy Cooney both accompanied the Queen onto the famed sod a short time ago.
A minor protest took place prior to her arrival at Croke Park. Around 30 members of Republican Sinn Féin stood at the junction of Dorset Street and the North Circular Road.
At an empty stadium, apart from politicians and dignitaries on stand-by for handshakes, the Queen was shown a video of our national sports and got the chance to examine a hurley.
She also met some GAA players for a brief chat.
This second day of her visit will wind up with a State dinner at Dublin Castle later this evening.
