RTE’s League of Ireland coverage had an unusual interruption last night

It really was a case of shutting up shop at Inchicore.

It really was a case of shutting up shop at Inchicore.

Viewers of RTE’s League of Ireland action last night witnessed an unusual interruption during live coverage of St. Pats and Dundalk at Inchicore.

The home side took a giant leap towards claiming a first league title since 2002 with a 2-0 win over their rivals, who finished the game with 10 men after Stephen O’Donnell was sent off.

However with the game level after 20 minutes, the live action cut across to a shop for a couple of seconds before quickly turning back to the top of the table clash.

Where the shop is and how it got into the coverage is anyone’s guess, but like we said, gives further meaning to the term shutting up shop.

shop

Whose shop is it anyway?

UPDATE: Thanks to our eagle-eyed readers we can confirm the chop is Clarke’s in Kilnaleck, Co. Cavan. Thanks to all those who set us straight.
