The World Cup captured the imagination of the general public over those fours weeks during June and July. It’s fair to say that the tournament helped football pick up countless new fans and one of the more high profile new fans was Rihanna, who was tweeting all the time during the competition.
The 26-year-old clearly fell in love with the game and we brought you a story over the weekend about her actually wanting to buy a club in England and if reports in the Catalan paper El Mundo Deportivo are to be believed, the club she is interested in buying is Liverpool.
The story reports that Rihanna has taken advice from Chelsea striker Didier Drogba on what club to move for and with The Blues unavailable, the Ivorian has suggested the Merseysiders.
Rihanna once claimed she is a Liverpool fan, which is probably why El Mundo Deportivo have linked her with a move for the Anfield club. We’re not sure what Brendan Rodgers would think if John W Henry decided to sell up, the move could cause some Disturbia…
