According to a new study published recently by good folk over at Smart Recruiters, the best time of the week to look for a new job is at 11am on Tuesday mornings.
So if you’re the type of person who sits around playing video games all week and only use your weekends to do some job searching, then you might want to rethink your plan.
Now, you might be wondering where they got their finding from. Well, Smart Recruiters “[examined] a randomised cross section of 270,000+ jobs in America and Canada within the SmartRecruiters system posted since 2013.”
According to the data, it takes recruiters a day to get themselves up to speed after the weekend, so that’s Monday out of the question.
It also takes them a few hours to get themselves sorted in the morning, so by 11am they’re ready to post new job offers.
The data also shows that striking early is key to securing that new job, as the longer the listing stays open the more competition you’ll have to compete with. Fair enough…
So there you have it. If you’re currently looking for a new job, you might have more success if you focus your time and energy looking around on Tuesday morning, rather when you’re hungover on Sunday afternoon.
