The countdown is on – Premier League release fixtures for coming season

We have already been suffering some withdrawal symptoms from the lack of Premier League action, but the release this morning of next season’s fixtures is just the tonic.

As much as we enjoy watching Tahiti gallantly take on their more illustrious opponents in the Confederations Cup, we do miss discussing at length the weekend’s action from across the pond.

With so many managerial changes and some big-money signings expected, the kick-off for the new season is fast approaching, not that the players on pre-season will want to hear that.

The opening weekend sees the champions United travel to Swansea, Jose will welcome newly-promoted Hull to the Bridge for his first game in charge, the Newcastle circus will rock up at Eastlands as Manuel Pellegrini takes charge at Man City for the first time while Cardiff’s first game in the top-flight sees them travel to Upton Park. Elsewhere two managers that could well be under pressure next season meet at Anfield when Liverpool entertain Stoke City.

PL fixtures

If the title race is as tight as people expect, then the final day fixtures could be very significant, at both ends of the table. United and Chelsea travel away to Southampton and Cardiff respectively while Man City host West Ham. Arsenal will travel to Carrow Road for their final game of the season.

Here is the fixture list in full, which of course is subject to Sky Sports change.

We’re counting down the days (60) already.
