One of the club’s biggest legends has returned to Anfield after his last spell as manager

Kenny Dalglish has returned to Liverpool after accepting an invitation from the lads at Fenway Sports Group to become a non-executive director of the board.

Dalglish was in charge of the club as manager before Brendan Rodgers was given the job last summer, and according to The Sport Review, Dalglish said “It is an honour and privilege to be asked to return to Liverpool as a director of the club. I have always said if there is anything I could do to help this club I would make myself available – when the call came I had no hesitation”.

Fans of the Anfield club will surely be delighted to hear this news, as is owner John Henry, who stated that FSG wanted to bring him back because he “embodies everything that is special about Liverpool”, and can help the club with their strategy moving forward.

Liverpool take on Crystal Palace today at 3pm in Anfield, and surely Kenny’s return will be noted by the fans in attendance, who hardly need any invitation to sing the name of one of the greatest players the club has ever seen.
