The Irish Twitter user who could be investigated by UK police for racially taunting Sunderland player Fraizer Campbell has used the social networking site to abuse celebrity sportsmen before.
The man who went by the Twitter name of TheReid1 – an account which has been deleted within the past 24 hours – called Campbell a “big f****** n*****” after the former Manchester United and England U21 striker revealed he was cheering on Estonia last Friday.
The player, who it seems is eligible to play for Ireland (that's according to Corkman and Sunderland teammate David Meyler) later said he was joking and cleverly predicted a 4-0 Ireland win.
The abusive tweet by TheReid1 is now being investigated by police, and a quick search has revealed that the tweeter, who describes himself as a Bohs and Spurs supporter, has engaged in cyber-spats with sportsmen on Twitter before.
Last December, ostentatious English golfer Ian Poulter retweeted a message from TheReid1 which read:
“@IanJamesPoulter You are now unfollowed for being a arrogant mindless git. Jealous of blokes who are where you will never be. No.1 #IJPFOOL bye bye”

Ian Poulter ... arrogant? git?
