Think you’re having a bad day? Spare a thought for poor Andy Keogh

If the circumstances were different, Andy Keogh would have been preparing for a World Cup qualifier against Germany with Ireland today. Instead, he woke up this morning to find out his house and car had been robbed.

If the circumstances were different, Andy Keogh would have been preparing for a World Cup qualifier against Germany with Ireland today. Instead, he woke up this morning to find out his house and car had been robbed.

Unless the Millwall striker was the victim of a particularly harsh Twitter hacking this morning, he revealed on the social networking site that his house and his car had been robbed.

Keogh understandably didn’t go into too much detail but either he was away from home at the time or the burglars in question were particularly subtle and quiet when going about their job as he only found out when he woke up this morning.

Keogh’s revelation comes just over a month after he accused Giovanni Trapattoni (with some grounds) of a lack of loyalty for not picking him in an extended 29-man Ireland squad for the World Cup qualifiers against Sweden and Austria last month, so his Twitter account has been the source of some particularly distressing personal news in the last while.

Keogh, of course, isn’t the first and probably won’t be the last footballer to be targeted by burgulars but hopefully the authorities can help him recover his car and some of his stolen goods; given his current absence from the Ireland squad and Millwall’s struggles in the Championship he could do with a break at the moment.
