Main Event: Paralympics 2012 Opening Ceremony, Setanta Ireland, 7.30pm
Tonight, Setanta Ireland presents the live coverage from the Olympic Stadium in Stratford, east London, as the 14th edition of the Paralympic Games is declared open. The ceremony has been entitled Enlightenment and it was designed to challenge perceptions of human possibility and showcase the achievements of British disabled artists and performers, including members of the charity Aerobility, who have overcome barriers to fly aircraft, and a group of people who acquired circus skills on a training course. The event also features a parade of athletes from each of the competing nations, before the arena’s cauldron is lit by the Paralympic flame, marking the official start of the Games.
Sporting Pick: All-Ireland Gold, TG4, 7.30pm
All-Ireland Gold on TG4 gives you the chance to see the memorable All-Ireland Football final between Kerry and Offaly from 1982, as two of the top teams in the country at that time battled it out in one of the best showpiece games the sport has ever seen. With Mayo and Dublin coming up, this is sure to get you in the mood for another All-Ireland final. Who knows, you could be watching this year’s final in twenty years time…
Movie Pick: Analyse This, TG4, 11.40pm
A stressed mobster is plagued by anxiety attacks that leave him incapable of killing. When a car crash brings him into contact with a psychiatrist, he thinks he has found the solution to his problems. Naturally, the horrified shrink is reluctant to be drawn into the world of organised crime – especially when the gangster starts to intrude on his personal life, and the FBI tries to recruit him as a mole. Comedy, with Robert De Niro, Billy Crystal, Lisa Kudrow, Chazz Palminteri and Joe Viterelli.

Tonight’s UPC On Demand pick features the hilarious Adam Sandler in his 2011 flick Jack and Jill. Family guy Jack Sadelstein prepares for the annual event he dreads: the Thanksgiving visit of his twin sister, the needy and passive-aggressive Jill, who then refuses to leave.
