Manchester United winger Antonio Valencia has signed a new three-year contract with the club, ending ridiculous speculation linking him with Liverpool.

Valencia, currently at the World Cup with Ecuador, had a season to forget under David Moyes and Ryan Giggs but has still been rewarded with a deal until 2017 by new United boss Louis van Gaal, with the option to extend by another year.

Luis Suarez is being targeted by Barcelona for £70m, which seems as inevitable as Wednesday following Tuesday. The speculation that is, not the transfer itself, with the Reds expected to dig their heels in once again to keep the Uruguayan exactly where he is.

If Suarez does move to the Nou Camp, Liverpool fans can expect to see Alexis Sanchez arriving in as well as a nice chunk of change to soften the blow of losing the 27-year-old.

Mario Balotelli’s return to the Premier League is going to happen sooner or later, and if Arsene Wenger throws the random sum of £29.5m at AC Milan then North London will be a much funnier place come August 16th.

Manchester City fans can rest easy after pointless striker Stevan Jovetic (did he win a medal?) pledged his future to sitting on the bench at the Etihad ahead of interest from Inter Milan.

Barcelona are looking to barter Alex Song in a bid to bring Gonzalo Higuain back to Spain, in news that makes no sense given their interest in Suarez, while Real Madrid look set to pip Liverpool to the signing of young Croatian midfielder Mateo Kovacic from Inter Milan.
