Manchester United are set to pay an English record £60m on Angel di Maria, and his arrival will spark a number of moves.

The impending arrival of Angel di Maria in Manchester is likely to herald the end of Danny Welbeck’s Old Trafford career.

Despite claims that Louis van Gaal would not sell the England attacker to any of United’s top six rivals, it seems that Tottenham are very interested indeed in Welbeck.

Wilfried Zaha is another player tipped to do one, with Hull City and Leicester City the most interested in a player whose attitude has been questioned since leaving Crystal Palace.

Samuel Eto’o could be heading to Merseyside after all…

With Mario Balotelli’s move to Liverpool set to be confirmed on Monday, it looks like Samuel Eto’o will not be needed by Brendan Rodgers after all.

Step forward Roberto Martinez, who really only has Romelu Lukaku as a first choice out-and-out striker at Everton.

Eto’o is a free agent and, although his wages might be a bit lofty for Toffees chairman Bill Kenwright, we can see this one happening fairly quickly.

Tottenham also need a striker

Roberto Soldado has been terrible at Spurs, Harry Redknapp has a strange obsession with Michael Dawson, Loic Remy is still available at the right price after his move to Liverpool fell through. Cue a reported swap deal between QPR and their London rivals for the latter two players.

Petr Cech wanted by both Paris Saint Germain and Monaco

In fairness, if you’d just lost your place in a team after 10 years, you’d be off too.

Petr Cech is not too happy that Thibaut Courtois is the new number one at Chelsea and has been angling for a move.

PSG and Monaco are both interested in taking the Czech 32-year-old on loan for the season, and with good cause as he’s still one of the world’s best stoppers.
