Transfer talk: Monaco throw crazy money at Ronnie, Suarez gets real about Real and OMG, AVB to PSG?

Luis Suarez is stepping up his bid to move to Real Madrid but Cristiano Ronaldo won’t be there if Monaco have anything to do with it, while AVB is also being coveted by the nouveau riche in France.

The talk about Cristiano Ronaldo’s return to Manchester United that has been doing the rounds for the last couple of months has seemed a little fanciful to say the least, but it is completely on the level in comparison with the figures being bandied about in relation to the Portuguese’s potential move to Monaco being highlighted in this morning’s papers.

The Independent claim that the nouveau riche French giants are prepared to break the world transfer record with an £85 million bid to take the horse Ronaldo to France and if he does make the move, are prepared to reward him with riches way beyond the wildest dreams of the average high-roller, not to mention the average punter.

Ronaldo will apparently be offered a salary of £17 million per year at Monaco, which, of course, would be tax-free, but considering that these figures don’t mean a lot until you break them down to the smallest detail, that would mean that Ronnie would rake in £330,000 per week, or, going by the average five day, 40-hour week, around £66,000 a day and just over £8,000 an hour. A spicy meatball indeed.

Speaking of France, Monaco aren’t the only club planning a big swoop if reports that PSG are going to make a move for Tottenham manager Andre Villas-Boas prove to be true. The reports are carried in a number of papers this morning in light of Carlo Ancelotti’s impending decision to forget Paris and the worrying news about AVB will no doubt prompt expressions like OMG, WTF and similar three-letter acronyms from Spurs fans. Apart from LOL of course, which Arsenal fans will be doing with great glee no doubt.

Moving back to matters Real Madrid for a minute, according to The Star, Liverpool’s Luis Suarez is seemingly stepping up his efforts to court a move from the Spanish giants, a stance that will probably affect Liverpool’s bargaining position when it comes to their troublesome but hugely talented number seven.

Suarez has reiterated claims about his treatment at the hands of the British press and how it is affecting him on Merseyside, although he can hardly expect to be killed with kindness by the fourth estate in Spain if and when he makes the move south.

Another striker whose future has been the subject of plenty of attention is Robert Lewandowski and Borussia Dortmund’s refusal to sell him to Bayern Munich has sparked rumours that a move to England may be back on once again. We at JOE were one of a number of media outlets duped by a supposed story on the Manchester United website confirming his signature yesterday but The Sun are claiming that the Red Devils are indeed back in the hunt and would be prepared to double his wages if he commits to a move to Old Trafford.

Should he end up there, it is likely that Nani won’t be one of his teammates next season. The Portuguese has undoubted ability but is a hugely frustrating figure at times and according to the Daily Mirror, patience with him seems to have run out at Old Trafford and a move to Galatasaray is on the cards, if the Turkish club can add a few million quid to the £6million bid they have already registered.

Nani’s compatriot Jose Mourinho, meanwhile, has only started to comb his ass groove in his seat in the Stamford Bridge dugout but is already starting to ruffle some feathers, or more pertinently, the voluminous coiffure of David Luiz, who he will be prepared to ship out of the club if he’s not prepared to adapt to Mourinho’s style of play and way of thinking.

While a lot of Chelsea fans would be upset if Luiz leaved, they would be inconsolable if Juan Mata left the club, but The Mirror think that his future could also be in doubt under the newly-christened Happy One.

Finally, West Ham are looking to pull off what would be quite a coup with the signature of 36-years young, cultured AC Milan and Italy midfielder Massimo Ambrosini, Darren Bent looks to be on his way out of Aston Villa and Newcastle could be where he ends up, while an old rumour in the form of a Victor Wanyama move from Celtic to Arsenal has been regurgitated, with the Kenyan apparently keen on a move to the Premier League as soon as possible.
