Transfer Talk: United pull out of Vidal deal, Arsenal pull out of Khedira deal and Liverpool want Reus

Today's transfer talk is littered with collapsed deals.

Today’s transfer talk is littered with collapsed deals.

Manchester United announced a world record kit deal with Adidas yesterday, but despite all the new found wealth, they’ve apparently pulled out of a deal to sign Arturo Vidal from Juventus as they view him as too pricey according to the Daily Express. The Turin giants apparently want £35m for him and United value him closer to £30m.

Athletic Bilbao v Barcelona - Copa del Rey Final

It sounds just like the Herrera (pic above) deal which was declared off the day before he signed and we wouldn’t be surprised if the Vidal deal does happen and this is just a bit of posturing from both clubs. At least that’s what the United fans will be hoping.

Arsenal have been chasing German World Cup winner Sami Khedira but have baulked at his wage demands say the Daily Mirror. Khedira wants to be the highest paid player at Arsenal and the North London club have basically said ‘Me hoop!’, and have chosen to look elsewhere to replace 40-a-day Jack Wilshere.

The German wanted £150k a week BEFORE bonuses. We cannot confirm if one of the bonuses was for having the longest hair in the squad.

Italy v Germany - International Friendly

The Daily Express are also telling us that Liverpool are preparing a massive £44m for Borussia Dortmund’s Marco Reus (pic above). The 25 year old who missed the World Cup with Germany through injury is said to be in a right huff with Barcelona following their signing of Luis Suarez as he had a verbal agreement to go there.

He had turned down advances from Manchester United as he thought he was off to the Nou Camp, but Liverpool are looking to offer him the chance to come to the Premier League. Liverpool are blinged up to the eyeballs with all that Luis Suarez money and are flashing their wallet around Europe like a kid who’s just won the lotto.

Argentina v Switzerland: Round of 16 - 2014 FIFA World Cup Brazil

Angel Di Maria (pic above) has spurned the advances of PSG and wants a move to the Premier League say the Daily Mirror. The French club were said to be close to a deal, but the Argentinian international has told them to ‘get stuffed’ as he fancies plying his trade in England thank you very much.

The Mirror reckon that this could mean a bid from Adidas Manchester United. The word on the Argentinian streets is that the player wants to move to a club who has Champions League football next season, but United are hoping to convince his representatives that their absence from the tournament is a one off and that they promise, promise, triple promise that they’ll be back in it next season.

Uruguay v England: Group D - 2014 FIFA World Cup Brazil

Keeping it South American, Edinson Cavani (pic above), has jumped into a taxi in Paris and roared at the driver “Take me to the Premier League this minute and make it snappy”. Or at least that’s what Sky Sports reckon. The Uruguayan striker has had his fill with Paris and all that romance, culture and fashion and fancies some pies, chips and X-Factor auditions in England.

He doesn’t like playing second fiddle to Zlatan at PSG and to be honest, we find it incredulous that professional footballers have to play instruments AND play football. Someone is going to get hurt very soon if this practice isn’t ceased.

In other news, Rio Ferdinand, aged 58 is signing for QPR, Filipe Luis is having a medical at Chelsea and Paul Lambert is poised to sign Swansea’s South Korean midfielder Ki Sung-Yueng.
