Transfer Talk: United set to bid big for Vidal, Lovren set on Liverpool switch, Khedira for Arsenal?

It won't be long before Arturo Vidal is a Premier League player, if the papers are to be believed.

It won’t be long before Arturo Vidal is a Premier League player, if the papers are to be believed.

The Juventus midfielder is a wanted man and reports on Sunday morning suggest that Manchester United are in pole position for his signature.

He won’t come cheap, though – the Old Lady want £50m plus Nani if any deal is to be completed, with Arsenal waiting in the wings as Arsene Wenger is linked to the world’s best before probably signing Jack Rodwell (who’s wanted back at Everton, apropos of very little).

Wenger probably stands a slightly better chance of getting his Gallic hands on Sami Khedira, who has mirrored Luis Suarez by blaming everything on the press and claiming he’s not as loved as he should be.

“I feel insulted by the Spanish press,” Khedira said. “I will never be one of their favourite sons. I began the season on the bench and once again I’ve been made a scapegoat. They don’t value me, even when I play well.”

Now to Liverpool, who are making some serious eyes at Dejan Lovren and the love is mutual.

His head, in fact, is already at Anfield as Southampton hold out for too much money (in his opinion).

“Liverpool sent the offer and the club haven’t informed me,” Lovren said. “Not even about the subsequent Liverpool bids. That wasn’t right. I found out about the bid from other people which disappointed me and I realised I’ve got no business staying at Southampton.

“Liverpool sent a £20 million and they [Southampton] paid nine million for me, so they would’ve earned twice the amount.

“At this point, I don’t know what I’ll do and I don’t like it. It was unbelievable that a few days ago I had an offer of £20 million. It was in the morning and by the afternoon the club had said I was not for sale. Frankly, my head is already at Liverpool.”

The Reds are also planning spunk £40m of their Luis Suarez transfer fee on Benfica attacker Lazar Markovic, while they also hope to steal Divock Origi before he becomes properly useful and loan him back to Lille for a season.

Decent business.
