Donal Walsh’s many friends and fans from the world of sport paid tribute to the Kerry teenager last night.

Late last night the inspirational Donal Walsh passed away peacefully at home. At just 16 cancer finally defeated Donal but he left behind a huge legacy with his anti-suicide campaign.

And it was that inspirational personality that led to many of the biggest sports stars, both here and further afield, taking to Twitter last night to pay their respects.

Donal was a massive rugby fan so it was no surprise to see some big names pay tribute to him last night. All Black Dan Carter, who was in touch with Donal, once again showed why he is one of the real good guys in world sport.

Names from the GAA also paid their respects last night

The above is just a small sample of the thousands of messages that were posted in honour of Donal last night.

He touched so many of us that we shouldn’t be shocked, and that his story will continue to inspire is no surprise either.
