There was a time when Anthony Pilkington’s quite admirable beard (granted it’s nothing compared to Gordon D’Arcy’s) provoked comparisons with Irish MMA star Conor McGregor, but the Irish international was mistaken for someone with whom he shares nothing but a surname by Kirsty Gallacher on Sky Sports News ahead of Norwich’s clash with West Ham this evening.
Knowing how easy it is to make mistakes, we’d be inclined to go easy on Kirsty, but some might not be so empathetic as that and offer a harsher critique…
