Because of the attacking talent prevalent in Barcelona squads at all age levels, ‘keepers at the club have to do an awful lot to hog the limelight… like saving six penalties and then scoring the winner to boot.

As you may have guessed by now, all of those penalties took place in a penalty shoot-out – six penalties for one team in one game would be like the dirtiest game ever – in an under-14 clash between Barcelona and Atletico Madrid on Sunday after the game finished 0-0 after 90 minutes.

Despite having the distinct disadvantage of having to stand in a full-size goal despite not being fully grown just yet, Barcelona ‘keeper Inaki Pena saved six of Atletico Madrid’s nine penalties and having more than done his duty between the sticks, he also stepped forward to dispatch what turned out to be the winning spot-kick and win the game for the Catalan side.

In doing so, he completely stole the limelight from his Atletico Madrid counterpart, who stopped three penalties and would have been a hero under normal circumstances, but he did miss the crucial penalty and these weren’t any normal circumstances in fairness.

Step aside Ciaran Kelly; we have a new penalty shoot-out king.
