And that’s saying something…

You might think that the ads that pop up on television on this side of the world from time to time are a little bit strange, but much like Winning Streak is no Takeshi’s castle, the ads that we see on a regular basis are mundane compared to what you’ll come across in the Land of the Rising Sun.

Tiger Woods, Beyonce and Homer Simpson are amongst a number of celebrities to have lent their names and faces to bizarre Japanese commercials in the past and Cristiano Ronaldo has become the latest to do so after starring in an ad to promote a product that claims to improve the facial fitness of the consumer gullible enough to fork out their hard-earned yen for it.

You might remember Ronaldo showing up on Japanese television during Real Madrid’s pre-season tour hawking the very same product in an appearance that was so bizarre that it looked for all intents and purposes like a wind-up, but this ad would appear to blow that theory out of the water.

Seriously, WTF?
