Video: Did anybody see James McCarthy’s brilliant goal-saving tackle for Everton last night?

A very Roy Keane-esque tackle it must be said…

A very Roy Keane-esque tackle it must be said…

Everton defeated German side Wolfsburg 4-1 in the Europa League last night, and the fact that the Merseyside club only conceded one goal can be attributed largely to the heroics of our own James McCarthy.

McCarthy covered the ground superbly in injury time to produce a goal-saving tackle on Wolfsburg player Aaron Hunt, whom it must be said took a rather heavy touch to allow McCarthy’s intervention.

Wolfsburg will be disappointed with the result and are surely at a loss to explain the poor performance and the lack of impact of the Wolf of Wolfsburg, Nicklas Bendtner, when he was introduced in the second half.
