Video: Edgar Davids gets all fighty with Jonathan Wilkes during Soccer Aid match

The Dutchman wasn't letting the TV presenter get past him, and he wasn't backing down when a fracas started either.

JOE

The Dutchman wasn’t letting the TV presenter get past him, and he wasn’t backing down when a fracas started either.

Okay, this isn’t a patch on the shenanigans between Armagh and Cavan but that was the Ulster football championship and this is a charity soccer match.

While Jose Mourinho invading the pitch to tackle Olly Murs was the undoubted highlight of Soccer Aid 2014, the clash between a man best known as a good friend of Robbie Williams, Jonathan Wilkes, and a bona fide legend of the game, Edgar Davids, was pretty good too.

Showing commendable skill and balance, Wilkes glided past (or attempted to glide past) the former Ajax, Milan and Juventus star but the now retired Davids wasn’t having that and took him down.

Wilkes got up to remonstrate with Davids but Davids wasn’t having that either, and plants his left elbow in the TV guy’s face. The ref stepped in to ensure it didn’t go any further than handbags, which is probably a good thing for Wilkes.
