And you thought 18 kilometres per hour was tough?
Anyone who’s ever been on a treadmill will probably have indulged the macho urges to push themselves to the limit of their physical capabilities, but an average Joe’s capabilities are a world away from those of a professional athlete, as was illustrated by a training video from Arizona Cardinals’ rookie Robert Gill which has gone viral in the last couple of days.
While working out in the gym, Gill had himself filmed running on a treadmill at a pretty crazy 25MPH and although it was only for a few seconds, the speed he reached on the machine was frightening indeed, especially considering that the fastest speed ever reached by the fastest man in the world, Usain Bolt, is thought to be just short of 28MPH.
Of course, it has to be said that Gill’s actions were incredibly dangerous and there was a good chance his NFL career could have been over before it even started because of a stupid injury, but in case you’re thinking about trying it yourself at home anytime soon, have a quick glance through some of the admittedly funny but also very painful accidents in the treadmill fail compilation below.
