Put the kettle on, put the feet up, sit back and watch just short of ten minutes of the most beautiful aspects of the beautiful game.
Anyone familiar with the internet – and we’d like to assume that’s most of you – will have probably come across the ‘People are awesome’ videos that surface every so often, containing a compilation of a lot of people doing a lot of awesome things, usually feats of athleticism that seem impossible to pull off.
Thinking that the same idea could easily be applied to football, YouTube user HeilRJ has done just that, putting together a package of just over nine minutes of some well-known and some not so well known footballers doing some extraordinary things on the pitch.
Usual suspects like Messi, Ronaldo, Zidane, Ronaldinho and Bergkamp feature in a lovely mix of goals, saves, outrageous assists or genius pieces of skill; in fact, probably the only thing amiss about the clip is that it comes with the cheesy dance soundtrack that is practically obligatory for football videos of this ilk.
Don’t let that take away from it, however, because it’s still great. Enjoy.
