Video: Gang of Irish lads do the Toure brothers chant… in the back of a tuk-tuk in Laos

The chant is going global people…

The chant is going global people…

It might already be getting a little old or it could be on the verge of doing so, but the famous chant about the brothers Toure seems to be at the height of its popularity around these parts right now.

A couple of weeks ago, there was a pretty spectacular and traffic-stopping version of it performed in Sligo after a night out, while we featured a similar version from Newcastle on the site a couple of days ago.

What the latest version lacks in numbers it makes up for in the exotic nature of the location as a group of Irish lads (and at least one girl who we can’t see but can certainly hear) decided to belt out an impromptu version of the Toure tribute while on the back of a tuk-tuk in Laos. Robert Gilligan sent us in the video above and tells us that the video was recorded two weeks ago and that some English and Puerto Rican colleagues joined in with Robert and his friends, although he does admit that they didn’t give them much choice.

The gang in question deserve kudos for their attention to detail (note how hushed they become before building up to a crescendo with the chorus) and for actually managing to stay in the tuk-tuk when getting a little excited and we’re sure the Toure brothers will approve if and when they see the level of worship being extended to them by the Irish abroad.

Hat-tip to Robert Gilligan for sending this one into us. Robert is now in with a shot of winning €250 by the end of the month.
