Manchester City’s defeat to Bayern Munich last week was humiliating enough before somebody went and made it look worse (but brilliant for everyone else) by adding the Benny Hill music.
In fairness to City, there are few teams in the world who wouldn’t have struggled against Pep Guardiola’s side the way they played at the Etihad last week, when they dominated possession for large periods of the game and were fully deserving 3-1 winners on the night.
Vimeo user Hans Muller picked out one particularly glorious passage of Bayern possession, sped up the footage and added the Benny Hill theme music to highlight just how fruitless City’s attempts to win the ball back were during Bayern’s passing masterclass.

Although we have plenty of sympathy for their plight, we can’t deny we got a great kick out of it at the same time but City players and fans should take consolation from the fact that they won’t be the only ones subjected to this sort of treatment this season if Bayern can keep this up.
