We know goalkeepers are often a bit eccentric but this lad is taking the p*ss.

With a name like Boubacar Barry, perhaps we shouldn’t be surprised at the reaction of the Lokeren goalkeeper to what seemed like an unfortunate if entirely accidental collision with Gent’s Brecht Dejaegere during the Belgian Pro League meeting between the sides on Sunday.

With both of them going for the ball after a dangerous cross from the right wing, Dejaegere’s momentum carried him into Barry in what was a nasty-looking collision, which the goalkeeper did not take too kindly to at all.

Barry got a little bit mad and began pushing Dejaegere at first, before realising that a Gent player had stuck the rebound into the net, at which point he dived theatrically to the ground and began holding his head as if he had suddenly been hit by a sniper in the crowd.

Barry’s team-mates were quick to calm him down (and probably equally as quick to tell him to cop himself on) and while the goal was disallowed, he was given a yellow card and then taken off at half-time because of the ‘injury’ that he had quite clearly fabricated on the spot in the immediate aftermath of the incident.

Even Jens Lehmann and Didier Drogba would blush at this type of carry-on…

Hat-tip to Barry Masterson for sending this one our way
