When you play a sport as contact-oriented as American Football, you know that there’s a chance you could get broken in two with a fearsome hit by some of the most well put-together athletes around.

Matt Craven of Ohio Northern University was subject to that type of hit from Joshua Scott of the University of Mount Union in a lower level college football clash lately and such was the force of the perfectly-timed tackle that Craven’s helmet and gumshield went flying into the air before he hit the ground.

Impressively-timed and executed though the hit was, arguably the most admirable thing about the clip is that Craven managed to hold onto the ball, even if probably knew precious little about where he was, never mind that he still had the ball in his hands.

You don’t get up from that type of hit easily, no sir.
