The pre-match build up to Manchester United against Liverpool was all about Luis Suarez and Patrice Evra and the Uruguayan refused to shake hands with Evra.
With the two teams lined up to shake hands before the game, the Sky cameras zoomed in on Evra as Suarez approached but the Liverpool striker decided not to shake Evra’s hand, provoking an understandable reaction from Evra himself while Rio Ferdinand also refused to shake hands with Suarez.
The actions of Suarez will only inflame the situation but one page of the Manchester United fanzine today will hardly help matters either.
As you can see below, the page is a handy cut-out-and-keep KKK-style mask that proclaims Suarez is innocent.

Suarez was found guilty and served his ban. That means the matter should be closed. Unfortunately from Kenny Dalglish’s comments about how Suarez should not be banned, to the striker's actions before today’s game to the decision by Red Issue to publish the mask, this is not going to go away any time soon.
More’s the pity.
Update 1.39: Sky’s Geoff Shreeves reports that an incident occurs in the tunnel at half-time. Patrice Evra attempted to speak to Luis Suarez and Martin Skrtel blocked his path. The incident then became physical with players from both squads involved. More as we get it but it's not surprising is it?
Update 2.40: Evra celbrates wildly at the end and the referee has to intervene between the teams.
Update 2.53: In the post-match interview Kenny Dalglish claimed he did not know that Suarez didn’t shake Evra’s hand. He then had a go at Geoff Shreeves saying he was “bang out of order” for accusing Suarez of setting the tone for the game and accusing Sky of hyping up the matter. He then walked off after effectively refusing to answer any further questions.
This is far from over. By the way United won 2-1, with two from Wayne Rooney while Suarez nabbed Liverpool's consolation.
