After a crucial goal against Real Madrid in El Clasico last weekend, Neymar continued his impressive start to his Barcelona career with a brilliant assist for the only goal in Barcelona’s victory over Espanyol at the Nou Camp last night.
Like a lot of South Americans – Luis Suarez, for example – Neymar rarely passes up the opportunity for a nutmeg when it provides itself and he stuck the ball between the legs of two Espanyol defenders for an inch-perfect assist for Alexis Sanchez, who proved to be the match-winner for the second week running.
Barca’ were hardly at their best but Neymar was certainly in the mood and if it wasn’t for the intervention of the Espanyol ‘keeper, he may well have pulled off a move made famous by his compatriot Pele over 40 years ago.

The man rarely fails to entertain and, thankfully, we can expect plenty more of where that came from throughout the rest of the season.
