If Barnsley fans were wondering just how good Northern Ireland international Paddy McCourt is, yesterday they were left in little doubt.

The midfielder joined the Tykes in the summer after five years at Celtic and scored one of the goals of the weekend in a 3-2 win over Middlesbrough. McCourt gave the home side the lead after leaving six Boro players in his wake with his solo run before a cool finish to the net, though he must have picked up a knock as he was substituted just three minutes later.
