We all knew that Papiss Cisse was good, but his two goals against Chelsea tonight were more than a bit special.
The Senegal striker has taken to the Premier League like a duck to water since moving to the Magpies in January and left everyone wondering why, with all due respect to Newcastle, why there weren’t bigger clubs falling over themselves to sign him.
They probably will be come the summer after Cisse’s heroics at Stamford Bridge this evening, where he scored both goals in what was a crucial victory for the Toon over a club that might just steal their place in the Champions League next season.
For his first, after 20 minutes, he showed fantastic touch and skill to chip the ball up with his right foot and volley to the top corner with his left, while the second, in injury time at the death, was an outside of the boot effort so outrageous that it really needs to be seen to be believed. Check out both goals in the video above.
So there you have it. Papiss Cisse, the best Senegalese striker at Newcastle since… that other guy.
