You have to feel for Connor Drinan after seeing this…
JOE is quite fond of a few friendly games of poker with our mates, however, it’s safe to say that we wouldn’t be in a rush to cough up $1m and enter the WSOP Big One for One Drop competition after seeing this awful beat.
We can teach you how to play the game or provide the number of a plastic surgeon that can create the perfect poker face but there are some things that are beyond our control.
To begin with, the entry fee for the WSOP Big One for One Drop poker tournament was a cool million dollars with a potential $15,306,688 for the winner.
Two of the players, Connor Drinan and Cary Katz, picked up pocket aces and after some pre-flop raises and acting, they naturally went all in.
Only Drinan was at risk of being eliminated but what’s the worst that could happen when the players are at an identical 2% to win a pot that’s split 98% of the time? Just one of the most improbable flushes ever.
Take a look.

What makes this even worse is the ominous message that Katz tells Drinan before the flop. “Save your money, kid. You can’t win every pot.” Ouch.
