It didn’t take long for Robin Van Persie to find the back of the net in the Community Shield today
Manchester United have struck first to take a 1-0 lead after just six minutes in the Community Shield today through Robin Van Persie, who struck the ball past an outstretched Scott Carson with a lovely header.
Wigan had been under duress for the opening few moments, with Zaha looking lively, but it was Van Persie who grabbed the goal. Wayne Rooney won’t feature today as he’s out injured, so David Moyes won’t have to worry about that, and he looked pretty happy as the ball crossed the line for a great goal.
