Video: Roma’s Seydou Keita refuses to shake Pepe’s hand and throws a water bottle at him
These two lads have history...
JOE usually doesn't pay too much attention to pre-season friendlies (you can read why here), however, tensions were definitely high before kick off between Roma and Real Madrid in Texas last night.
An old feud between Seydou Keita and Pepe was ignited once again in front of a worldwide audience. Pepe and controversy? JOE is shocked I tells ya, shocked.
Back in 2011, when Keita was a Barcelona player, the midfielder accused the Portuguese defender of calling him a monkey in an El Clasico match. It's clear that Keita still holds a grudge against Pepe for that alleged racist slur as he refused to shake his hand in the pre-match pomp, as you can see at 0:07 in the clip. Keita is wearing number 20 for Roma.
If that wasn't spicy enough, the Malian international then completely blew his cool and threw an open water bottle straight at the Portuguese defender, as you can see around the 0:40 mark.
Take a look...

According to the domestic match commentator, the fourth official said that Pepe had spat at Keita at some point during the handshake/water bottle incident also.
What are the odds that these two will meet each other again in the Champions League this season?
