It’s not quite on the same level as the Van Persie nutmeg from last night but it’s impressive enough all the same.
Making a fool out of your goalkeeper seems to be a theme of international training sessions in the lead up to international friendlies this week, as after Robin van Persie embarrassed Michel Vorm with the cheekiest of nutmegs, Santi Cazorla decided to have some fun at Iker Casillas’s expense.
All it took for him to do so was the old ‘fake to shoot’ trick but while it must have been embarrassing for Casillas, it should be pointed out that he wasn’t helped by the defenders in this particular exercise, who seemingly couldn’t care less that Cazorla had been granted so much freedom so close to goal.
Nice move all the same.
