Some truly inspired goalkeeping on display here…

Every now and again, goalkeepers have one of those games where they appear nigh on unbeatable and though it might seem strange to say that of a ‘keeper that let in three goals, we can only imagine how many Sao Paolo would have conceded were it not for Rogerio Ceni last night.

The ‘keeper is nearly as well-known for what he can do in the attacking third as his ability between the sticks but he was in top form in Sao Paolo’s 4-3 victory over Universidad Católica last night, a victory that was largely down to some fairly heroic goalkeeping from the former Brazilian international.

Ceni makes about ten saves in the clip above but we counted at least six that were truly outstanding and certainly impressive for a 40-year old who has made over 1,000 appearances for his club.

By the looks of things, he’s a few years left in him yet.
