South Africa are all but out of World Cup contention after their defeat to Ethiopia and with little thanks to their striker Bernard Parker.
The Bafana Bafana striker got on the scoresheet with a bullet-like header, though unfortunately for his teammates, it was in the wrong net and contributed to their 2-1 defeat.
It was a most sweet connection – skip to 35 seconds – but the defeat effectively that the victors cannot be caught as Group A winners. Well not on the field at any rate.

It has just transpired that FIFA have started disciplinary proceedings against the Ethiopian team over accusations they fielded an ineligible player in the 2-1 win over Botswana on 8th June, meaning South Africa may still be able to squeak into the play-offs yet.
Bernard Parker will be a relieved man if that is the case.
