While he will now never lose the 'Calamity James' tag, as he approaches his 43rd birthday it seems David James is still capable of moments of sublime keeping too.
The former England man is now playing in Iceland for old buddy Hermann Hreidarsson’s team IBV. Reportedly playing virtually for nothing so that he can learn his trade as a coach, James is still togging out and in a game this week against a side called BÍ/Bolungarvík he made a brilliant one-handed save.
Unsighted from the corner, James gets down with the clichéd ‘strong left hand’ to turn a shot back that was almost over the line.

There is some debate over whether the ball made it over the line but we believe it didn’t so hats of David.
