Video: The most excitement ever seen in a BBC studio as Gus Poyet sacked while on TV
The first half between Nigeria and Spain in the Confederations Cup was entertaining, but BBC analyst Gus Poyet had other things on his mind.
He started out the evening as Brighton manager, though tensions with the club have been fraught after a recent disciplinary hearing with the Championship outfit, but by half-time he was told he was out of a job.

The club issued a statement during the evening while Poyet was in the BBC studio taking in the Confederations Cup encounter, and the half-time analysis focused very little on the 1-0 lead the World and European champions held over the Super Eagles.
Understandable Poyet was not pleased with the surreal situation, though it did make for great television.
And it’s not too often we say that about the BBC analysis.
