We never noticed this before but Charlie Bid does a very good impression of Larry David.
In his day, Charlie Bird was the big man on campus at RTE. He broke some pretty big stories, most notably the National Irish Bank tax and overcharging scandal, and Bird was often the first man on the scene for any major news story.
Sadly the last few years of his career saw him struggling to fit in anywhere and he ended up doing a few fairly poor travel documentaries before he retired from the national broadcaster earlier this year.
His brief stint as RTE’s Washington correspondent didn’t produce much news but did it did produce an infamous documentary, Charlie Bird's American Year, which showed a man very fed up at life in America’s capital.
Now, YouTube user ElClancy has mashed up some of the best bits of that doc with the music and stylings of Larry David’s epic Curb Your Enthusiasm. It works a treat and if RTE ever decide to remake Curb, Charlie is a shoo-in for the part of Larry.
Hat-tip to Redditor dictionaryaz for posting the clip.
