Video: There were five goals scored in the final eight minutes of Wigan v Yeovil last night

It must have been heart-stopping stuff for fans of both sides but at least they got their money’s worth.

It must have been heart-stopping stuff for fans of both sides but at least they got their money’s worth.

Wigan v Yeovil on a Tuesday night might not sound like the most glamorous of football occasions, but few games this season will match it for the sheer drama that unfolded at the DW Stadium last night.

The hosts had been leading by a solitary goal by Manchester United loanee Nick Powell heading into the final ten minutes, but were shocked by two goals in four minutes from Yeovil’s Ishmael Miller to turn the game completely on its head.

Wigan then went one better with two goals in three minutes thanks to James McCarthur and a Byron Webster own goal before Luke Ayling bundled in a corner on the stroke of full time to seal what could be a vital point for Yeovil in their battle to beat the drop.

Mad stuff Ted.
