Video: This high-school football catch is either ridiculously good or ridiculously lucky

Or it could be a little from Column A and a little from Column B but it’s certainly not something you see every day.

Or it could be a little from Column A and a little from Column B but it’s certainly not something you see every day.

The catch was made by Darnell Tate of the Hubbard Eagles against the Poland Bulldogs last Friday night and though at first it looked as if Tate was bound to fumble what seemed like a fairly routine catch, he somehow managed to scoop it between his legs as he was falling and clasped it between his ankles to make the first down.

Tate didn’t half look clumsy as he was making the catch and who knows how far he might have gone had he simply caught the ball as he should have and kept going, but that wouldn’t have looked half as spectacular and probably wouldn’t have got him half as much recognition as this effort will, so maybe he knew what he was doing after all.

Maybe.
