We can’t wait to fall on our arse trying this at indoor soccer in the New Year.

Because it encourages the use of the most outrageous skill imaginable, futsal is a regular provider of amazing goals and it’ll be hard top the one scored by Jorge Matamoros for Burela against Deportivo Xota in the Spanish futsal league recently. Using the pace of the pass and the knowledge that the opposition ‘keeper was immediately behind him, Matamoros casually flicked the ball behind him without even looking and the spin was enough to take it beyond the ‘keeper and into the net for a goal of outstanding quality that will be hard beat on any outdoor pitch over the coming days and weeks.
